2. Networking should be well-prepared as interview
3.Know about your mission:
Fact finding
Establishing contact
Getting CV through
Getting hired
Difference between last two: getting hired need to know the role and the people to approach in the specific area; getting cv through don not know specific role but general fields
There is no chance to achieve all in limited time; therefore know your mission before you attend the networking
4. Function of "How are you/ How are you doing"
It is an open ended question which could be directed to any area and types of question.
Do not just reply back with "how are you", grasp the opportunity with self-introduction and showcase.
5. Making impression
a. Comment on the presentation
b.Build/ Showcase PERSONAL BRAND
the topic not directly about the job (except for the fact finding purpose)
Show your interest in the company industry rather than the job
need to outstand from the others
c. Show the action on your interest instead of staying in the initiation
d. do not talk about GPA or academic stuffs (can get directly from CV)
talk about the staffs off the CV
impact on the audience: not typical from common people/ not really related to the work
6. Look and feel
Dress not formally every time--> depend on company culture
7.The morning after (after work)
Consolidation
Write down what you remember from the networking session immediately that night
Work as reference point or talk point for interview of the company
Adjust your CV according to the candidate requirement of the company and company culture
--> what they are looking for
Name card
write down the detail of the card holder
record down the conversation key notes and role of the card holder
8. Contact
send out email that night for reinforcing the impression and the people will receive it next morning
Deliver the payload
Instead of sending out the CV, send sth. presenting your interest or sth. relevant to your project or anything you have mentioned in the conversation over the networking session
in the form of research paper. module essay as well relevant to the business
but not from previous/ similar company internship: keep avoid on specific company (integrity)
9. Keep in touch
Greeting for festival
or sending out relevant comment on the company or area relevant to the work of the receiver
10. Bring your CV and hand it to HR for every networking session
Making an impression on the company in addition to the application through the net
11. How to break into the conversation on networking session
Pick up one sentence or key word from the staffs and start your own conversation or divert the attention to you///never a rude behavior for people to remember
